Bernina launches special edition sewing machines
Bernina has just launched its special edition 350 models in the UK. We love the gorgeous floral face plates on these 350PE machines, which have been designed by Ricky Tims and Tula Pink
These designs are the result of a competition that Bernina ran that allowed Facebook fans to choose two faceplate designs for the 350 Special Edition models. Ricky Tims’ and Tula Pink’s designs were selected from entries submitted by the sewing industry’s best designers. Bernina’s 3 series of sewing machines are ideal for both any level of sewer and are perfect for those who just want to do everyday repair jobs or alterations, as well as dressmaking, creative sewing and quilting.
Bernina 350 SE has intuitive handling, great functioning and solid, Swiss-quality construction, which will make it a joy to use on simple and more complex projects. Other accessories included with this machine include the Walking Foot #50 and Free-motion Quilting Foot #29C. This sewing machine is equipped with six full shank presser feet, a slide-on extension table to make your work area larger, and the company’s Free Hand System (FHS). FHS is a knee-operated lever that raises the presser foot, lowers the feed dog and releases the thread tension at the same time.
It also comes equipped with 115 stitches, a maximum sewing speed of 900 stitches per minute and a stitch width up to 5.5 mm. It also has a direct-selection function with a bright LCD screen that allows users to switch quickly between the 20 utility stitches, 52 decorative stitches and 11 quilting stitches. It also has a buttonhole function with two programmed buttonhole styles that will make sure your buttonholes are exactly the same length every time. You can store up to 30 stitch-pattern combinations permanently on the memory space, and there’s a bright LED sewing light to illuminate the area while you stitch. It will sew a variety of fabric types easily, as well as neaten and embellish. It has two sewing alphabets too.
