A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US HERE AT THE PATTERN PAGES...

Welcome to the newly designed website for The Pattern Pages. I hope you like the new website, it has taken me much longer than I had anticipated but I hope it was worth the wait!

My name is Julie Bonnar and I've worked in the publishing side of the craft industry for more than 12 years on magazines including Sewing World magazine, Making Jewellery and most recently (and still) as editor on the UK's leading trade publication Craft Focus.

I originally trained as an interior designer but found that I actually quite liked making my own clothes more than I did making curtains!

Things have changed in the sewing industry over the last five years and the choice of craft magazines has grown greatly and there are some fab magazines out there. Today, there's so many exciting new independent pattern companies, dressmaking bloggers, as well as the major commercial ones but there's no longer a magazine dedicated solely to dressmaking and so I decided in 2012 to create The Pattern Pages.

I aim to bring you all the latest sewing pattern news and where to buy them plus news of fashion trends for the seasons and how to replicate them with sewing patterns plus provide you with straightforward sewing tips and advice to help you make your own clothes look the best they can.

Early this year (2016) I have been joined by my daughter Emily Bonnar here at The Pattern Pages, who is studying fashion at university, her aim on this website is to bring a fresh face to the pattern industry and a new view! She will be teaming patterns up with the latest trends in order to bring you some new patterns that keep your wardrobe fresh.
