NEW SEWING PATTERNS FROMVOGUE, BUTTERICK & MCCALL
We take a look at a couple of the season’s latest patterns from
Butterick, McCall’s and Vogue Patterns
Today’s easy-wear styling
This pull-over dress will look great on any body shape and features a shoulder strap and underarm stitching that forms an unusual drape with imitation bands, front and back. Vogue 1442 is a today’s fit pattern from Sandra Betzina and is cut-in-one piece so no right side seam.
Vogue 9094 is a great pattern for stocking up on the season’s essentials. It features a semi-fitted, unlined jacket with shoulder pads, plus a fitted top with back button closure. The dress has a semi-fitted skirt with a a slightly higher waist and fitted bodice with princess seams. Make the trousers with an elasticated waist and tapered leg or straight-legged with side pockets. Available in sizes 8-24.
The sporty look is back and this bomber-style unlined jacket has side front seams, exposed zip and sleeves with shoulder darts. Make in plain or contrasting fabrics. McCall 7100 comes in sizes x-small to xxlarge.
Prom or Party wear
McCall 7090 features gorgeous lined dresses that have overlay and bodice variations. This dress pattern features a close-fitting bodice with front princess seams, gathered skirt and invisible back zip. You can create your own stylish design with these mix and match pattern pieces. Available in sizes 8-24.
This pattern for pull-over shell tops is full of great options including scallop hem edge, back neckline slit, Peter Pan collar, elbow length sleeves or sleeveless plus a button/loop closure. McCall 6175 is available in sizes 6-22.
Butterick 6168 is definitely our favourite collaboration with Liesl Gibson under the Lisette brand. This semi-fitted dress (and tunic) is well finished and features a lovely pleated cross-over bodice with a V-neck but held in place with front neck tab. Front midriff and short sleeves are lined and the dress has an invisible back zipper. Available in sizes 6-22.
