sewing patterns

We’ve just received the New Look catalogue with the latest patterns for spring/summer 2105. If you’re not familiar with New Look patterns –
what we like about them is that all sizes (size 8-18) are in the one pattern.

The new patterns concentrate on several themes for this season:

This introduces us to patterns perfect for using with sheer and transparent fabrics which seem to be so extremely popular at the moment.

New Look 6350 is a simple mini skirt but with a sheer overlay that can be made long or as a high low overskirt. Layers is definitely in and New Look 6342 has updated a sleeveless (or short sleeve) dress, with sheer over bodice and trim option. Have pretty is this!

Comfort and sophistication is the inspiration behind these garments. We love New Look 6340 with an easy-to-wear and easy-to-make dress pattern that features a trapeze-shaped swing with options for sleeveless or half sleeve. Choose from a notched neck, scoop neck or V neck and add pockets and opt for side high low hem (shark bite hem).

Black & white is a striking twosome to wear together and New Look has come up with some great styling to add texture, stripes or a delicate embellishment.

Just for Knits, New Look 6348 you can sew a skirt with either a tie front or integrated knot feature with and centre front pleat in two lengths.

Simple nautical inspired designs are back where mix and match is key to all the patterns.

New Look 6351 is a must-have pattern and includes four separates pieces –  3/4-sleeve knit V-neck top, edge-to-edge jacket, pull-on trousers and drawstring waist skirt.

Culottes are a must-have wardrobe staple for the season. New Look 6350 includes shorts and culottes and is a great pattern for summer separates.
