Exciting news the Raglan coat from waffle patterns has
just been released!
Just got the news that Waffle Patterns has just released the Raglan Coat. I was asked to be a pattern tester for this pattern back in the spring and have had to wait ten months to share it with you.
This is a loose-fit raglan sleeve, double-breasted coat with a slightly shaped waist and rounded hemline. When I made it, there was just the option for a welt pocket but now there's also a patch pocket which will work better on thicker fabrics. It can be made in sizes 34-48 so there's a good ranges of sizes. I really enjoyed making this coat and realised that I hadn't actually made a winter coat before. I didn't make it easy for myself either, as I picked a plaid wool fabric albeit it in a lightweight.
Waffle Patterns are so well-written with excellent illustrations that take you through each stage of the make. With the thickness of my fabric choice, I did have trouble with automatic buttonholes on my sewing machine and had to do the buttonholes with narrow zigzag stitch by hand but they turned out surprisingly neat.
I love this coat pattern and think the collar looks as nice folded down and can't wait to wear it now the weather is changing. The Yuzu PDF sewing pattern costs €10.80 until 30th September from Waffle Patterns.
