Kat Hardisty from New Zealand has just launched the pattern company Muse Patterns
A lover of vintage styles, particularly the 1930’s, 1940’s and 1950’s, Kat’s aim is to design modern sewing patterns with vintage touches that are easily wearable and customisable by everyone.
To start this new range of exciting patterns is the Jenna Cardi. This button-up cardigan features a lovely fitted round neck, with two length options that finishes either at the hip or waist length, three sleeve options – long and 3/4 with cuffs, or short finished with a simple hem – and optional shoulder yoke detailing.
The waist-length version is designed to work well over skirts and dresses, and the wide hem band harks back to cardigan and jumper styles of the 1940’s and 1950’s. While the hip-length version is best over shift dresses and trousers, and includes a hem band to help it drape well whether worn open or closed. Choose either to make with plain shoulders for a classic cardigan style or add gathers so it gently into curved front shoulder yokes for a subtle 1940’s touch. In total, there are 12 mix and match options to be had so you can make time and time again with different results!
Jenna is a PDF pattern that you print at home , which is sent to your inbox immediately after purchase. Sizes available correspond to bust sizes 32″ – 48″ and pattern is priced at $12 USD.
