Find out about us – the mother and daughter duo
We’re Julie and Emily, mother and daughter and together we run The Pattern Pages. We put together a digital sewing magazine every other month for dressmakers that love patterns, fashion and finding out more about the sewing community! For subscribers, there’s a special section behind the scenes of the website. This houses all the magazines plus some extra resources that sewists will love. From discounts from our favourite pattern companies and competitions, to places to go for free sewing patterns (at last count there are over 400 of them now!)
“I have been working in the sewing idustry for over 15 years experience of the sewing industry, says Julie and “I have a degree in Fashions,” says Emily. The Pattern Pages started life as a sewing blog that we did in our spare time. In 2017, we decided to take the jump and launch our magazine that featurs the best from indie sewing patterns. We truly believe we have something different to bring to the sewing table! There’s a real gap in the market for a resource for those who love fashion and making their own clothes and want to keep pushing their skills forward!
We’re on a mission
Things have changed in the sewing industry over the last few years. Today, there’s so many exciting new independent pattern companies, and dressmaking bloggers out there, as well as the major commercial companies, but there’s no longer a magazine dedicated solely to dressmaking. In 2017, we created The Pattern Pages digital magazine – the first indie digital magazine on the market!
We’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest sewing pattern news and where to buy them. Plus the fashion trends for the seasons and how to replicate them in your sewing. We also have lots of sewing tips and advice to help you make your own clothes look the best they can.
“We’ve had some amazing feedback from subscribers, and we couldn’t have done it without the thousands of sewists that have taken the time to download, read and enjoy the issues so far. So it’s a HUGE thank you to everyone!
We don’t have a big publisher behind us but we do offer you a fabulous bi-monthly magazine for sewists that’s very different from the rest,” explains Julie Bonnar
