Alexei is 36, lives in Leeds and is a Manufacturing Engineer. He started sewing about two years ago and uses his skills as an engineer to make precise garments. His sewing is sometimes hindered by his MS, which affects his right side of the body – so he has learned to use his left hand to work on his creations.
Janet is 70, lives in North Yorkshire, and is a retired shopkeeper. She was taught to sew by her Italian grandmother. Jamacian-born, she moved to the UK as part of the Windrush generation and loves fashion and has been sewing for 40 years, She enjoys enjoys making occasion wear for special events and is inspired by the style of Victoria Beckham and Megan Markle.
