Crisp and clean lines make this skirt such a great wardrobe staple!
The Barkly skirt from In the Folds is a panelled A-line skirt with pockets and a range of interesting and fun to sew details. The skirt is simple but stylish and can be worn all-year round. In summer, make in soft linens and wear with sandals. And in winter, sew in denim and pair up with tights and boots.
View A sits on the natural waist (the top of the waistband will sit just above the natural waist) and features a shaped waistband, slanted pockets that are inset in the side panels and a hem facing. While view B sits just below the natural waist (as it features a waist facing, rather than a waistband), has patch pockets and side splits in the hem. Both styles feature a centre back invisible zip for a clean finish.
Mix and match the styles to make the skirt your own! The Barkly skirt is compatible with mid weight to heavy weight fabrics such as linen, cotton canvas, cotton drill, denim, corduroy or wool. Keep in mind that the weight of the fabric will determine the amount of structure and drape in the skirt. The sewing pattern is available in 10 sizes A-J (which equates to Australian sizes 6-24 (AU),).
