We’re loving the new Fantail collection features two top sewing patterns with three style options and a special designer twist!
The Fantail shirt and sweatshirt but with full length raglan sleeves. This sewing pattern is easy to sew but has a designer twist – the centre front hem gather adds unique interest and the lowered back hem ensures the top is flattering around the bottom. A lovely line is created from the centre front down along the hip and around the rear hem creating the fantail. The Fantail Shirt is also a simple sew and the curved hem made easy with bias binding. This is a trans-seasonal top that can take you from smart casual to work. Choose from a round neck and V-neck in the shirt and sweatshirt option. Any confident beginner can tackle this top or it’s an easy make for any intermediate sewer. Designed for woven fabrics such as cotton, rayon, viscose, polyester crepe and lightweight linen. The sweater can also be made in light to medium-weight knits such as jersey cotton, sweat shirting and merino wool.
The Fantail Shirt and Sweatshirt is available in sizes XS – 2XL in pdf format for $14.50 (NZD) from The Sewing Revival
The Fantail Tank is a stylish sleeveless top that is easy to sew with the same designer twist as the sweatshirt and shirt. It’s the ideal top for hotter days – wear with shorts or summer trousers. The Fantail Tank can be sewn with or without an overlocker/serger to neaten the seams. Again this sewing pattern is suitable for confident beginner and easy choice for intermediate sewers. Make in cotton, rayon, viscose, polyester crepe and light weight linen. A crisp cotton gives a lovely gather definition, while a softer draping fabric like rayon produces a softer gather.
