Seamwork has just released two new sewing patterns for January that are ideal for those learning to sew
The Ruth Dress has a relaxed fit at the bust and sleeves, with a low-cut neckline, notched collar and waist darts. A 1/2in tie and a snap secure the left bodice to the right side seam with the straight skirt hits below the knee. Sew this dress in a lightweight or medium-weight wovens such as lawn, linen, double gauze and rayon. The pattern is available in sizes 0-26.
The Sky jumpsuit is a feminine and classy sewing project to start this new year. Use a woven fabric like linen or lightweight denim or pick a special fabric such as silk noil or rayon suiting to sew an elegant piece for 2019. Sky features a v-neck finished with a facing, with bust and waist darts for shaping, side seam pockets that are secured at the waistline, and sleeves that hit mid-bicep. The waist ties wrap around one and a half times, the hem hits 2in above the ankle, and the jumpsuit is finished with a centre back invisible zipper with a keyhole closure. This sewing pattern is available in sizes 0-26.
