Kensington Knit Skirt from Liesl + Co

A quick-to-sew, comfortable-to-wear, pull-on skirt in knit!

The Kensington Knit Skirt from Liesl + Co is really quick to sew and easy to wear. The skirt is meant to be sewn on a sewing machine – so it’s great way to learn to sew with knits! With the straight stitch on your machine, you have everything you need to complete this pattern. However if you really want to use your overlocker – there are places where you can use it on this pattern, but parts of it are better sewn with a regular straight stitch.

The basic skirt has just two pattern pieces – the yoke and basic skirt. The yoke fabric is doubled creating a really smooth line, while the hidden elastic band inside gives a great fit! All-in-all, it’s a deceptively simple skirt that can be worn in many different ways and for lots of different occasions.

View B on the other hand adds just two more pattern pieces to make a pleated front panel and ties. This gives the skirt the appearance of a wrap but with the security of a regular skirt underneath. So you don’t need to worry about a typical wrap skirt opening when you sit or walk.

The wrap version would make a wonderful and comfortable skirt for the office. While the basic skirt is ideal to throw on with a camisole on those summer days. This sewing pattern is available in sizes 0-20 and 16-30!
