The Suraya Jacket from Sew Over It is just the kind of light, drapey jacket that’s perfect for mild weather! Wear it with jeans and T-shirt for a dressed-down chic. Or pair it with your favourite blouse, skirt or dress to elevate your look for work or a night out.
The pattern features a host of lovely details, including epaulettes, storm flaps, sleeve loops and a back vent. It also has welt pockets, collar and lapels. The jacket is unlined, except for the set-in sleeves. The seams are bound with bias binding; so the jacket will look good on the inside! The jacket hangs open so there are no closures at the front.
Make your jacket in medium weight woven fabrics with drape. Select fabrics such as linen, viscose linen, and certain mid weight crepes and twills. You could also use lightweight wool suiting. The pattern comes in sizes 6-30 (UK). This is split into two different blocks – sizes 6-20 (B cup) and sizes 18-30 (D cup).
