Tessa Top from Rebecca Page

Sometimes there’s a gorgeous piece of fabric you’ve been saving, and you need an easy (incredibly flattering!) top pattern for an excuse to sew it! The Tessa ticks all the boxes!

The Tessa is a simply beautiful woven top that sews up so easily and is ideal for both plain fabrics and prints. It’s the perfect sewing pattern for beginners and comes in a good range of sizes from XXS to 5XL. With bust darts for beautiful draping and easy fitting, an inverted box pleat at the base of the back yoke for flowy movement, keyhole detailing, a button closure, and two sleeve options, the Tessa is a stylish everyday top.

There’s only five pattern pieces in total to make this flattering top (only 4 if you skip the sleeves and make the sleeveless option!). If you’re more advanced, there’s a one-page quick-sew guide with just the basics on it so you can crack on without having to read the full pattern. Or if you’re just starting out, the full instructions are step-by-step and explain everyhting the darts, inverted back box pleat in plain really beginner-friendly English!
