Oversized is the must-have trend for the autumn and how we are living now
The Lounge Shirt from The Maker’s Atelier is a generously oversized, all-seasons shirt. Designed during Lockdown, this style is made for a more relaxed way of living and the sleeves are finished with a cuff and placket detail.
The width of the shirt body is extreme and the shirt is wider than it is long! The armhole drops to just above the elbow as a result and to compensate, the sleeve is shortened. When worn it drapes slightly longer at the sides and swings out at the back. There are also two breast pockets and a central button fastening to give the shirt a casual utility feel.
This style works best with most light to medium weight woven shirting fabrics from cottons and linens to more fluid viscose and Tencel fabrics. Then as we move into autumn, brushed fabrics and baby needlecord would make a cosier option.
