The first sewing pattern from new British pattern company
The Thirza Dress from The Sewing Club is the first stylish dress (or top) sewing pattern.Angela Pressley of The Sewing Club in Kent has been teaching adults and children for 15 years from her light-filled studio by the sea, and knows a good pattern when she sees it!
She has a wealth of experience and knowledge from running her sewing school and before that working in the textile and fashion industries for more than 20 years. Now seemed the ideal time to launch her own range of sewing patterns.
This pattern has instructions that are clear, succinct and un-baffling as the last thing Angela wanted was for people to be put off sewing. She wants to instil as much confidence as I can with my patterns”
This dress pattern includes basic techniques that can help build up your range of sewing knowledge. The pattern has been through some rigorous testing and consist of 25 concise instructions along with full-colour photographs and two sheets of quality pattern paper.
Sizes are kept simple in small, medium and large because although the neck line with its banding and collar is fairly formal, the rest of the dress and top has an easy and relaxed fit so there are no lengthy size charts that can confuse.
Thirza is a sewing pattern to make both a top and a dress with front V-neck banding, collar and grown on sleeves. The top has a rounded faced hem and the dress has pockets and a tie belt.
