Last week was Fashion Revolution Week 2019 and to celebrate Schnittchen patterns released two sewing patterns that can be made where there is no fabric scraps

Zero Waste (ZW ) is a philosophy, which strides for sustainability. The aim is to live a life producing as little waste as possible and not to waste raw materials

The Zero Waste No. 1 sewing pattern
This is made from a rectangle and as the pattern name suggests, there are no scraps of fabric left over when you complete it. Even the fabric which is cut-out for the neckline, is converted into pocket bags! The neckline is finished with a stand-up collar and the two strips of fabric are used for the wiatband channel and the ties and you can use thefinal piece of fabric to sew a hairband!
