About Us

Hi, we're the mother, daughter team behind The Pattern Pages

The Pattern Pages is an independent sewing magazine started by mother and daughter team, Julie and Emily based in the UK. The first magazine of its kind, championing indie designers all over the globe with Interviews, Collaborations, Techniques, Makes and much more.

  • Julie - Founder & Editor

In her spare time Julie enjoys sewing of course, collecting way to many craft supplies and a good romcom on the sofa with a bar of choccie – it has to be Dairy Milk though!

  • Emily - Founder & Designer

Apart from working (that’s all Emily feels she does) she enjoys sewing, wining and dining, and crime documentaries. A good boxset in bed is her favourite place to be.

Where it all started

The Pattern Pages Blog started as a passion project in 2012 for co-owner Julie. The blog was her side hustle whilst editing popular craft magazines full time. The website was solely a blog and dedicated Burda Pattern shop but she knew there was something missing in the dressmaking industry.

In 2017, joined by her daughter Emily after finishing university, they put their ideas together and The Pattern Pages Sewing Magazine was born.

Little did they know, nearly 10 years on, after the little blog Julie started, it would become one of the leading international sewing magazines, read by thousands of sewists all over the world.
